If you sell consumer goods that come under the scope of GPSR in the UK or EU and don’t have a local presence, you must appoint an Authorised Representative or Responsible Person. The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) applies to all Consumer Goods (GPSR 2023/988) and includes (almost) all non-food products that are not covered by directives for CE/UKCA, cosmetics or raw/formulated chemical products.
If you are trading consumer products that come under scope of the GPSR in the EU or UK without being legally established in these markets, you need to appoint an Authorised Representative (also referred to as Responsible Person).
