If you run a UK business with customers in the EEA, you may need an EU Data Representative. This rule came in on 1 January 2021 under the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement.

have no offices or branches in the EU or EEA
process or monitor data from people in the EU or EEA on a regular basis
Are there any exceptions?
Yes. You do not need to appoint one if you:
only process data rarely
do not create risks to the rights and freedoms of EU data subjects
do not process sensitive personal data
are a public body
Examples:
If you sell to EU or EEA customers on a regular basis and hold their data, you will need an EU Data Representative.
If you sell niche products online and only receive a few EU or EEA orders each year, you will not need one.
